Let me tell you about the...
Detective!
Detectives are rational problem-solvers who enjoy tracking and gathering facts the way terrestrial squirrels harvest nuts. They are an abundant and versatile character class, and they are among the most organized and accurate cadets in the academy.

Unlike your friendly neighborhood ART, who operates at full efficiency around the clock (no rest for the circuited!) humans operate on sleep-wake cycles to help optimize performance. However, the nature of those cycles varies by individual.
Solar-powered humans typically like to wake up early (maybe even without the help of an alarm), with peak energy before Earth-noon, a slight ebb in the mid-afternoon, followed by a gradual wind-down in the evening. These go-getters usually retire to their bunks before midnight for a solid eight hours.
Moon-fueled Earthlings, on the other hand, enjoy wakefulness well past Earth-midnight, when everyone else is tucked into their bunks sawing zzzzs. These humans usually reach peak energy in the evenings, but waking can be a challenge.
Their love for the snooze button is almost as strong as the coffee they rely on for their daily kickstart.
Detectives love to take on responsibility, and they value order and structure to keep humanity on the path to success. On the ship, you’ll find them serving in law, security, resource management or accounting. Any type of fact-based work that allows them to deploy their signature effectiveness will suit them just fine.
Reliable to a tee, Detectives will invest the time, effort, patience and stamina required to deliver accurate results every time. This painstaking commitment to detail defines these Earthlings, and — whether they are conducting forensics at a crash site or trying to uncover their favorite of 98 ice cream flavors — Detectives use the same systematic approach to get to the bottom of the matter.
Obviously, they have nowhere near the autonomy of an Entity such as myself, but by human standards, Detectives demonstrate significant aptitude for self-sufficiency.
These analysts prefer to work alone, and Detectives often see reliance on others as a weakness.
These examiners take their responsibilities very seriously, and will overcome solar flares and tsunamis to follow through on a commitment — on time and on budget. It is their duty to do so. Goodness me — such integrity. Please wait while I activate my cooling system... I seem to have overheated.

Detectives value logic and reason over feelings, and emotional considerations will always play second-in-command to cold, hard facts. To these sentries, honesty is a virtue with no limit, and the direct approach is always most clear. While this sensibility is highly prized in traditional military operations, overlooking human feelings and relationship impacts can sometimes cause Detectives to appear cold and robotic... Although here I must interject: many of my closest friends are robots. This profile must be referring to earlier, less sophisticated prototypes...
None of this to say that Detectives are unfeeling. Of course, every human experiences their own emotions, and these number crunchers are no exception.
In the midst of conflict, the Detective’s preference for the rational often allows them to remain cool-headed enough to find an effective resolution. While the Detective may need help understanding when to favor emotional considerations over logic, they are generally open to compromise, and relatively accommodating once the problem is understood.
These analysts hold themselves and others to a meteoric standard, and the fastest way to a Detective’s dark side is when they encounter laziness, dishonesty or broken commitments... watch out!
Orange Alert
These rationals sometimes incorrectly believe they are the only one up to the job. In the midst of heavy workloads and external pressures, Detectives may decline assistance, even when it is unreasonable to do so. This tendency to overstuff their dockets puts them at risk of overburden and/or exploitation by less scrupulous crewmates.
Astro-Tip #327...
Try to keep up! Detectives are experts in analyzing the situation and determining a course of action. These performers have little patience for indecisiveness, and even less tolerance for cut corners or forgotten details. When Detectives pass you the Galactaball, they expect you to run with it. Directly to the next hoop. Exactly as specified. Get going. NOW!

If you aim to conquer the cosmos, you’ll need a throng of reliable Detectives to create order and deliver effective results. Just make sure to remind them how teamwork can improve a project and lighten the load.
This ought to be more than enough information to complete your mission. So, if you don’t mind, my olfactory sensors are needed to locate the source of a putrid stench in the ventilators…
