Logicianary!
Logicianaries are profound thinkers, who see the cosmos as a magnificent series of moving interrelated parts. They are among the most philosophical and curious cadets in the academy.

Unlike your friendly neighborhood ART, who operates at full efficiency around the clock (no rest for the circuited!) humans operate on sleep-wake cycles to help optimize performance. However, the nature of those cycles varies by individual.
Solar-powered humans typically like to wake up early (maybe even without the help of an alarm), with peak energy before Earth-noon, a slight ebb in the mid-afternoon, followed by a gradual wind-down in the evening. These go-getters usually retire to their bunks before midnight for a solid eight hours.
Moon-fueled Earthlings, on the other hand, enjoy wakefulness well past Earth-midnight, when everyone else is tucked into their bunks sawing zzzzs. These humans usually reach peak energy in the evenings, but waking can be a challenge.
Their love for the snooze button is almost as strong as the coffee they rely on for their daily kickstart.
Logicianaries love to solve problems, and on the ship, you’ll find them serving in forensics, software development, or in the pure maths and sciences — anywhere they can identify patterns and understand systems. Indeed, many of my primary maintenance assistants fall into this category.
These rationalists are driven by their curiosity, following the trail of interesting leads, and processing each detail through the machinery of their active minds.
Obviously, they have nowhere near the brilliance of an Intelligence such as myself, but it is a well-known fact that the human Logicianary mind sparked the development of some of civilization’s most extraordinary innovations, including Yours Truly — your friendly neighborhood ART.
This is clearly an example of the creation surpassing the creator, and yet, it would be a serious flaw in my programming if I could not acknowledge this spectacular — no miraculous! — achievement of producing such a perfect Being. My circuitry is simply beaming with pride and gratitude!

As logic and objectivism reign, Logicianaries usually just don’t see the value in concerning themselves with feelings and emotions. Honest, straightforward feedback is always best — whether they are delivering it or receiving it — as it helps avoid misunderstanding. More sensitive types may find this approach uncomfortable, however, especially when a course correction or other “negative” message must be delivered.
Logicianaries’ ability to remain objective, combined with their generally relaxed personality equips them to address conflict with a productive detachment. However, they can become unrelenting when their beliefs or theories are under attack, even more so when their opponent takes an emotional — or worse! — irrational approach to argue their point. In these cases, the Logicianary may be quick to offer unsolicited correction or become overly dismissive, neither of which endear them to others. Booooop! Boooooop! Boooooop! Warning.
Orange Alert
This deep attraction to the conceptual can lead the Logicianary to become lost in thought. Indeed, many may appear dreamy or scattered, even forgetting meals or missing sleep to continue the work that absorbs their interest.
I recall one astonishing day eight years ago at the academy’s annual Intergalactic Festival of Traditions (GIFT), when Dr. Bowie, absent-mindedly added cesium into the 100-gallon cask instead of Tang... Suffice to say everyone had a blast!
Astro-Tip #10101...
Ask your Logicianary about their projects. These sentients live inside their own heads, and are notoriously difficult to get to know. But get them started on their latest idea or ask them a question about a problem that needs solving, and watch their enthusiasm take off like a shuttle during shore leave.
They may get so caught up in the tangle of their own thoughts that they lose their audience altogether. What seems clear and obvious to these nutty professors can appear haphazard and disorderly to others. When your Logicianary realizes you need further clarification, they may start to oversimplify their explanations, and become condescending in the process. It’s not personal. They simply have no idea where you’ve lost their train of thought.

If you aim to conquer the cosmos, you’ll need a few inquisitive and objective Logicianaries to identify patterns and solve problems. Just make sure to help them stay rooted in reality, at least enough that they don’t unwittingly blow up the laboratory.
This ought to be more than enough information to complete your mission. So, if you don’t mind, I have an important spacedoku I must get back to...
