Pathfinders are caring creators who are firmly grounded in the physical world and work well with their hands. They are among the most gentle and artistic cadets in the academy.
Unlike your friendly neighborhood ART, who operates at full efficiency around the clock (no rest for the circuited!) humans operate on sleep-wake cycles to help optimize performance. However, the nature of those cycles varies by individual.
Solar-powered humans typically like to wake up early (maybe even without the help of an alarm), with peak energy before Earth-noon, a slight ebb in the mid-afternoon, followed by a gradual wind-down in the evening. These go-getters usually retire to their bunks before midnight for a solid eight hours.
Moon-fueled Earthlings, on the other hand, enjoy wakefulness well past Earth-midnight, when everyone else is tucked into their bunks sawing zzzzs. These humans usually reach peak energy in the evenings, but waking can be a challenge.
Their love for the snooze button is almost as strong as the coffee they rely on for their daily kickstart.
Pathfinders harbor a fierce sense of independence, which leads them to many non-traditional fields of work, such as freelancing and solo athletics. On the ship, you may find them photographing the fleet, designing cabin interiors, or comforting crewmates in sick bay with their warm nurturing abilities.
These souls are motivated by their own internal drive, rather than any financial reward, status or sense of duty. Therefore, Pathfinders are always most successful when their work aligns with their values.
Their keen eye for esthetics compels these crafters to create, and whether they’re brandishing a paintbrush or a pen, a guitar or a welding rod, these artists use their tools to fashion original works that inspire audiences. Even an everyday item as mundane as a navigational chart or crew roster can be made beautiful in the hands of an imaginative Pathfinder.
Obviously, they have nowhere near the resourcefulness or adaptability of an Intelligence such as myself, but by human standards, these adventurers demonstrate significant aptitude for improvisation and spontaneity.
Jetpack out of fuel? The Pathfinder hitches a ride.
Tear in the uniform? The Pathfinder rips off the sleeves to fashion their new line of academy-inspired handbags.
Asteroid hurtling toward the planet? The Pathfinder deploys a creative maneuver to save the day — probably involving chewed up bubblegum and a little swagger.

Genuinely good-natured, these quiet charmers get along with almost everyone, reducing the prospect of conflict. However, Pathfinders experience stress when rigid rules and traditions squash their freedom of expression. With all those big feelings running deep beneath the surface, Pathfinders under pressure can be volatile. However, because these gentle artists are so introverted, they are less likely to boil over in the face of conflict, than to simply shut down. Withdraw. Game Over. Goodbye.

Pathfinders set goals and know how to stick to them — this is one reason they make such fine athletes — but if they wish to truly live their best lives, they must draw on this same perseverance and push through the boredom, drudgery and delayed gratification to meet their long-range goals.

Give your Pathfinder some space. Although these humans are warm and easy-going, make no mistake: they need time outside of the moonlight to recharge.
And although Pathfinders’ feel their emotions on a galactic scale, they tend to keep their feelings well-buried until they know you well. So reserved are these humans, even the Pathfinders’ closest loved ones may not know everything about these stoics. If a Pathfinder doesn’t want to open up, back off. Otherwise, they may just slip out the back, Jack...to find the space they need to get themselves free.
